PIR Micro Fresnel Lens

  

PIR, FIR, and NIR is a sensor that detects infrared light.

PIR sensor stand for Passive Infrared sensor and it is also called as Pyroelectric Sensor. PIR let the user know whether there is a movement or not by sensing the infrared light from human body relative to the background, it is being used as a motion detector sensor. FIR senses infrared light from the subject and identifies energy content and absolute temperature. Therefore, it is frequently used under high temperature where ordinary plastics can’t endure. The NIR uses wavelength range of 850nm~950mn, so compared to PIR and FIR which use8~13um wavelength range, it has different quality material and production method for Fresnel lens. Fresnel factory possesses appropriate materials that suits both wavelength range and temperature mentioned above.

PIR

The need for human body detection sensor is being expanded from security, passenger notice, ligt management to field of IoT. PIR movement detection sensor, among many body detection sensing methods, detects external changes in infrared light without contact (non-contact). The Fresnel lens must be used together with PIR sensor. Detection area, direction and distance are determined by the Fresnel lens. Thus, PIR sensor without Fresnel lens can’t function properly. This is what sets PIR lens apart from other simple injected plastic pieces.

FIR (Far Infrared) sensor, refers to a sensor that detects the temperature by measuring the IR released from the subject. By nature, for FIR lens must have good heat resistance and IR penetration ratio.

 

Fresnel Factory has developed a FIR with material that has high heat resistance and penetration ratio.

IR thermometer is a non-contact temperature sensor, that measure temperature by the measuring subject’s IR emissivity. It consists of lenses to concentrate infrared (IR) energy on the detector and converts it into an electrical signal that can be displayed in terms of temperature after compensating for changes in ambient temperature.

This type of setting enables temperature to be detected even without any contact with subject at a far distance. This infrared thermometer is useful for temperature measurements in environments where contactable temperature sensors such as thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors cannot be used, or for many reasons cannot produce accurate data.
 

It is used when the subject object is in motion, when the object is surrounded by electromagnetic field, when the object is in vacuum or other restricted environment, and or when immediate temperature measurement is needed.
